When you are trying to conceive it is vitally important that couples use a sperm friendly lubricant rather than a regular lubricant, such as KY Jelly, when making love.
Clinical studies have shown that the use of regular lubricants when trying to conceive is not advisable. Many vaginal lubricants have been found to inhibit the conception process or to have no positive effect at all.
That is not to say that you can’t get pregnant using common lubricants but your chance of success may be lowered. At their worst, regular lubricants may even kill sperm!
So which lubricant should you use? At Zoom Baby we stock all three of the leading pre-conception lubricants on the market in the UK today.
All of the lubricants we offer have undergone extensive laboratory testing and are sperm friendly! We can recommend them all. Which one you choose really comes down to personal preference.
Conceive Plus is a sperm friendly lubricant that is manufactured by a company called Sasmar. It claims to be the only fertility lubricant that can proactively aid your chances of getting pregnant.
The formula for Conceive Plus contains both magnesium and calcium ions. These ions combine to help keep sperm healthy and viable and also help to enhance their motility, which is their ability to swim.
Conceive Plus has also been shown to be beneficial if you have been experiencing vaginal dryness when trying to conceive.
Suitable for all couples who are trying to get pregnant, Conceive Plus can also heighten pleasure during sex, enhancing both your enjoyment and your chances of getting pregnant naturally.
Conceive Plus is available in a multi-use tube or as individual applicators. The individual applicators work out a bit more expensive than the multi-use tube. We currently sell the eight applicator pack which will offer one month’s worth of lubricant. The multi-use tube is a more economical buy and can currently be bought in 30ml and 75ml versions.
FertilSafePLUS has been developed by Babystart, one of the world’s leading providers of fertility In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) products and fertility supplements.
Standard lubricants can work against the natural fertilisation process by damaging sperm or hindering the movement of your man’s little swimmers. FertilSafePLUS does not cause these problems. This lubricant ensures the ideal pH and consistency for natural conception. This protects sperm and preserves their motility and viability. This makes FertilSafePLUS and ideal lubricant to use when trying to conceive.
FertilSafePLUS is paraben and glycol free. It has been clinically tested by a expert UK clinic within the NHS, to proving that it is perfect to use when trying to conceive. It is available as a 75ml tube or as a multi pack which also contains two small individual tubes of lubricant and two applicators.
Pre-Seed (aka PreSeed)
Pre-Seed Fertility-Friendly Lubricant was invented by two women reproductive physiologists in 1994. Pre-Seed claims to offer mild moisture for every day lovemaking and vaginal comfort.
Pre-Seed was developed specifically to match a woman’s fertile fluids and to provide safe lubrication for use when trying to conceive a baby.
Pre-Seed lubricant is formulated so that it has an identical pH and osmolarity to male semen. This means that it won’t harm sperm. It also allows pre-seed to be mild for a woman’s body.
Pre-Seed is sold in a 40g tube, along with nine applicators. Pre-Seed’s applicators can help increase comfort during intimacy by coating the entire vagina in the same way that body fluids do.
