Women who are trying to get pregnant often ask about the best early pregnancy test. They want to know what the best early pregnancy test is as the choice can sometimes be bewildering.
It is understandable that many women are excited to find out as soon as possible if they are pregnant. For this reason, many women choose to use an early pregnancy test to find out if they are expecting a baby and it’s these types of test that we suggest you try.
How soon can you take a Pregnancy Test?
The first pregnancy tests to appear on the market were designed to detect pregnancy as early as the first day of your missed period. Since then, new pregnancy tests have become available that can detect pregnancy a number of days before then. These sensitive pregnancy tests are known as early pregnancy tests.
All pregnancy tests work by detecting levels of the hormone hCG in urine. A standard pregnancy test detects hCG at 25 miU/ml. An early pregnancy test detects hCG at 10 miU/ml. (The lower the number the more sensitive the test!)
The best early pregnancy tests detect the lowest levels of hCG. This means that you are able to find out about your pregnancy much sooner.
Nowadays there are a large number of pregnancy tests available, but which ones are the best early pregnancy tests?
Here at Zoom Baby we offer three different brands of early pregnancy tests. All are excellent pregnancy tests. We hope that the following information might help you decide on the best early pregnancy test for you.
Zoom Baby Early Pregnancy Tests
Our very own Early Pregnancy Tests are seen by many of our customers as the best early pregnancy tests. Why? Maybe because they are such tremendous value for money, working out at a fraction of the cost of the more well known brands such as Clearblue and First Response.
Zoom Baby early pregnancy test strips can detect hCG at a level of 10 mIU/ml, making them very sensitive. They offer reliable results and are a cheap and reputable alternative to the big names brands. The only down side with these Zoom Baby tests is that they are strip tests rather than midstream tests. That means that you will need to find a beaker or cup to wee into. The test is then dipped into your urine sample and results appear in minutes.
Zoom Baby Midstream pregnancy tests are a good economy option. They are really well priced and even cheaper than than some of the best supermarket pregnancy tests.
First Response Early Pregnancy Tests
The First Response Early Pregnancy Tests are incredibly popular because the promise to give you your pregnancy test results “6 days before the date of your missed period.” For many this makes them the best early pregnancy tests as it make the First Response pregnancy test one that can be used very soon after conception.
First Response Pregnancy Tests are also popular because they are midstream tests, meaning that you simply pee on the stick to get your results; there is no need to collect a urine sample.
Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test
Many people will be aware of the Clearblue range of pregnancy tests. These tests cost a bit more than most of the other tests on the market but they are extremely popular because they are simple to results. Clearblue PLUS tests are digital pregnancy tests that give a “+” or “-” result depending on the outcome of the test.
The Clearblue Digital Pregnancy Test Kit with Weeks Indicator can even tell you how far along in your pregnancy you are!
Is a Digital Pregnancy Test the Best Early Pregnancy Test?
Clearblue leads the way when it comes to digital pregnancy tests. But are these digital tests the best early pregnancy tests? And why would you pay more for such a test?
Generally, digital tests are easier to use than tests that show results with lines. They are easier to read, which is why many women prefer them.
The problem with a traditional test is that this type of pregnancy test relies on a second line appearing to indicate if you are pregnant. However this line could be very faint meaning that you may not see it and feel disappointed that you are not pregnant, however a faint line second line is an indication of pregnancy – it really does not
A digital test does not use lines, which will cut out a lot of the confusion for many women. Instead you might see as “yes” or a “no” on a digital screen, or even a smiley face! A digital test gives you a clear pregnancy test result.
Early Pregnancy Tests and hCG
The best pregnancy test for early detection will be able to detect the lowest possible hCG levels in your urine. All three tests featured here are capable of detecting low levels of hCG, making them ideal for early pregnancy detection.
The best early pregnancy tests detect hCG levels as low as 10 mIU/ml,. This means that some women can establish if they are pregnant as soon as a week before their period is due.
It is important to remember that all women are different and the production of hCG hormone can vary between each individual, rising at a rate that your own rate. This means that some women can obtain a pregnancy test result some 5 or 6 days before their period is due, others will not be able to get a result.
Try not to get upset or panic if you take a pregnancy test and the results are not what you were hoping for. It can take a bit longer sometimes for hCG levels to rise to detectable levels. For peace of mind, wait until the first day of your missed period before you test.
